Products and Services Overview

Make your business more productive. Taking less time to do work saves money. It also leaves more time for generating new revenue.

AboveNet can help.

Optimising productivity depends on minimising the economic and performance barriers that constrain information exchange at the server-to-server level, the gateway-to-network level, and across the network.

AboveNet offers a full-portfolio of optical networking services and solutions that address each potential bottleneck from the individual server level all the way across the network. And unlike other service providers, AboveNet solutions operate on an affordable and integrated all-optical infrastructure so you can truly eliminate constraints on information exchange instead of just moving bottlenecks to other downstream or upstream exchange points.

  • dedicates 100% of current & future circuit growth to the customer
  • customer has exclusive equipment use
With WDM Custom Wave, an interactive design approach allows AboveNet to incorporate complex customer requirements, next generation Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) technologies, and best of breed equipment platforms to deliver unique private network solutions to AboveNet’s most demanding customers.
WDM Enhanced Wave WDM Enhanced Wave offers dedicated, point to point transport service that connects customer locations with a starter package system that includes an initial circuit and supports either WDM- based or port based growth options. Service is available as unprotected, protected or path protected with various circuit interfaces.
WDM Basic Wave WDM Basic Wave is a dedicated, point to point transport service that connects customer locations with a single circuit. Service is available as unprotected, protected or path protected with various circuit interfaces but no ability for WDM- based service growth. With Multiport circuit options, port based growth is possible.

Metro Ethernet Private Applications:
  • Supports virtualisation need for larger transport links

  • Storage area networking and Disaster Recovery
  • Data centre consolidation, reduced server requirements

Benefits:

  • Cost-savings by adding IP access on same pipe

Metro Ethernet Private:

  • Dedicated bandwidth with guaranteed availability
  • Security: no one else is on customer’s network
  • Operational: not impacted by shared ring activities
  • Control: all equipment service is at customer premises
  • Performance: minimum equipment interfaces & components

Metro Ethernet Dedicated:

  • Bridged or tunneled across core, no link oversubscription
  • reserved bandwidth availability
  • No managed equipment at customer’s premise = significant rack space & power cost savings at datacentres

Metro Ethernet Standard:

  • Scalability: infrastructure can grow to meet needs
  • No managed equipment at customer’s premise = significant rack space & power cost savings at datacentres
  • Speeds: 100mbs, 1GbE & 10GbE
  • Completely private fibre & managed equipment
  • Customer supplies space & power for managed equipment
  • No shared components = more customer control
Metro Ethernet Dedicated
  • Speeds: 1GbE & 10GbE
  • Dedicated metro fibres with connectivity into optimized network infrastructure
  • Virtual Circuit with Guaranteed Bandwidth
  • For incremental charge, customer can add IP Transit over same dedicated fibre for cost savings on separate metro tail
Metro Ethernet Standard
